Josh Marshall has a eulogy or sorts for Neoconservative WaPo columnist Michael Kelly, who was killed while reporting in Iraq. As much as I thought his columns were exercises in idiocy and hate, he apparently didn't let his views get in the way of his editorial duties at the New Republic and Atlantic Monthly according to writers at those periodicals. That is, he was apparently a real journalist.
This is as opposed to another former editor at the New Republic.

Happy day! The Media Horse has returned from vacation. And not a moment too soon.

The rush to Baghdad has resulted in dangerously low supplies for soldiers and Marines on the front lines. How bad is it? One MRE per day, supplemented by whatever some local Iraqis give them.
Let's say that again.
Americans are so hungry that Iraqis feed them. Wouldn't be that way except for the fact that we have totally evil leaders who would rather drink blood than feed our soldiers 3 squares a day. And I don't mean the military leaders either - this one lies directly at the feet of Shrub himself.
